my heart & Home
“Why does it feel SO GOOD to have a schedule?” my eight year old daughter asked.
We’d been trying something new. A printed, minute-by-minute daily agenda for her schoolwork, movement, meals, breaks, and screen time.
At first, I worried it might feel too rigid. To my surprise, she loved it.
Why? Because she no longer had to carry the heavy mental load of asking herself:
“What am I supposed to be doing right now?”
That constant question had been draining her energy. Once it was gone, she felt amazing.
And it struck me: this isn’t just true for an eight-year-old. It’s true for me, and for almost everyone I work with.
When we’re burned out, scattered, or overwhelmed, it’s often not because we lack time but because of decision fatigue.
My clients, my daughter, myself... we are all amazed at the ease and grace of our lives when we get specific and intentional about our attention, energy and time.
